    The Position Basics:

    This position is to work on a full time basis on the day shift.  The shift hours are 7:00am – 3:00pm. 


    Our Facility:

    Buena Vista Care Center provides both short-term rehabilitation and long-term nursing home care at the highest standards. We provide comprehensive skilled nursing care using state-of-the-art medical equipment and progressive treatment plans promoting quality care. An interdisciplinary care team made up of nursing staff, therapist(s), resident dietitian, activities and social services develop a customized plan of care that addresses specific care needs and therapy goals necessary for the resident.


    We have the only Transitional Rehabilitation Room, which is an apartment like suite designed to help our residents practice the independent living skills they will need prior to returning home. We also offer a caring team approach to Alzheimer’s care, post-acute care, long term care, stroke recovery and assisted living. In addition, we have state-of-the-art medical equipment, and progressive treatment programs enabling our residents to reach their full potential. This includes utilizing the Nintendo Wii system to help rehabilitate by focusing on balance, coordination, and cognitive function. And, our unique "Homeward Bound Programs" are the pathway home or to a lower level of care, and are individually tailored to meet our residents’ needs.     What We're Looking For:



    POSITION SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to manage nursing department services on a day-to-day basis to achieve the identified clinical and operational results.



    • Make clinical rounds of all stations a minimum of two times per day.
    • Conduct clinical assessment; use critical thinking and coordinate professional standards of care.
    • Daily management and follow-up of changes-of-condition and other identified issues.
    • Develop, review, and revise care plans to accurately reflect Resident needs.
    • Complete nursing assessments and documentation as assigned.
    • Manage incident/accident practices to comply with state/federal regulations as directed by Director of Nursing (DON).
    • Supervise nursing staff to maximize clinical outcomes and operational effectiveness.
    • Assist with completion of licensed nursing staff clinical and medication administration competency skills checklist upon hire, annually, and as needed to maintain proficiencies.


    Minimum Requirements

    • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the working State.
    • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
    • Must possess the ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports.
    • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies & procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
    • Must have basic knowledge of professional, State, Federal and regulatory standards.

    Preferred Requirements

    • Prefer minimum 1 year experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.
