    Gilroy Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, in Gilroy , CA is looking for a Health Information Assistant to be part of their team.  We are Families serving Families and our nursing support staff are a valued piece of that vision.  This position is to work on a Full Time basis on the Day shift.  The shifts are 6 hours a day - 5 days a week (30 hours).

    POSITION SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Health Information Manager in maintenance of the health information records.

     


     

     KEY JOB FUNCTION:

    • Accurately and timely assembles resident records into respective electronic and paper files.
    • Closes, files, stores, and destroys records per regulations and Covenant Care's policies.
    • Follows Covenant Care's auditing guidelines and accurately completes audit support, as assigned.
    • Provides required documentation needed for triple-check and accurately completes work, as assigned.
    • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with current HIPAA , Privacy and Security Laws; access and release of information practices.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Must have previous experience in a Health Information Department in a health care facility.
