    The Position Basics:

    This position is to work on a full time basis.


    Our Facility:

    La Jolla Nursing and Rehabilitation Center provides both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care at the highest standards. We provide comprehensive skilled nursing care using state-of-the-art medical equipment and progressive treatment plans promoting quality care. An interdisciplinary care team made up of nursing staff, therapist(s), resident dietician, activities and social services develop a customized plan of care that addresses specific care needs and therapy goals necessary for the resident.


    Our primary goal is to improve the resident's function to the highest level of independence possible. We have state of the art modalities and equipment and specialized programs that assist us in this process.


    Our facility proudly receives numerous admissions and several of those residents were sent to a lower level of care. This includes discharges to home, assisted living facilities, and board and care facilities. A good percentage of our skilled therapy admissions were able to successfully return residents to live within their own community.     What We're Looking For:


    POSITION SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate the Nursing Department's delivery of quality direct patient care to meet the facility's clinical and operational objectives.



    • Manage and direct Nursing Department in partnership with and in absence of Director of Nursing (DON), making necessary decisions, etc.
    • Make clinical rounds of all stations a minimum of two times per day.
    • Conduct clinical assessment; use critical thinking and coordinate professional standards of care.
    • Develop, review and revise care plans to accurately reflect Resident needs.
    • Manage incident/accident practices to comply with State/Federal regulations as directed by Director of Nursing (DON).

    • Over-see RNA/FMP to ensure compliance with training, treatment delivery, documentation.

    • Manage and participate in discharge / transfer process to ensure proper nursing services; complete, accurate, and timely documentation.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Must have, as a minimum 1 year experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.
    • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the working State.
    • Must possess the ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports.
    • Must be knowledgeable in various computer programs, system applications, and other office equipment.
    • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies & procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
    • Must have basic knowledge of professional, State, Federal and regulatory standards.
